Paul Weitz,
DVM
Paul grew up in Salisbury,
Vermont on a family farm with one of every
kind of animal. He attended Whittier College
in California for his undergraduate degree
and then went to Tufts Veterinary School in
Boston, MA for his DVM. Following vet
school, he completed an internship at Alamo
Pintado Equine Hospital in Santa Barbara
California. In Paul's early career, he
worked for equine practices in Australia,
New Jersey, New York and Saudi Arabia. He
started the practice in Minnesota on June
26, 2002 and has been working to help horses
and their owners since. He currently resides
in Northfield with his wife Stacie and sons,
McCoy and identical twins Luken & Quinn.

Melissa Johnson, DVM
Melissa joined
the practice in October 2007 after
graduating from the University of Minnesota
College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2007.
She spent her first months as a veterinarian
working at Prairie Meadows Racetrack in
Altoona, IA. Although she loves Minnesota,
she attended Iowa State University for her
undergraduate degree and will forever be a
Big 12 fan (sorry Gophers)! Melissa, husband
Tim, and dog Maddie are now happily residing
in Burnsville, MN.

Christie
Balster- Office Manager
Christie was born and
raised in Southern California, and lived in
southwest Missouri for 15
years. Christie, husband Frank, and
their two children Andy and Katie,
relocated to Minnesota in 2006.
Christie graduated from Missouri
Southern State University with a
bachelor’s degree in business
administration with a minor in human
resource management. Her work
history includes 10+ years managing
physician practices, insurance
filing, billing and coding.

Lindsey Frandrup- Vet Tech
Lindsey was born
and raised in Hastings, MN; this
local girl at an early age
developed a strong fascination
with agriculture. She graduated
from the University of
Wisconsin- River Falls with
bachelor’s degrees in Animal
Science- Equine and Creative
Writing. In June 2010, she
moved from Colorado, where she
had lived for six years, back to
state of Minnesota. In
Colorado, she trained young
horses and worked at a vet
clinic. Now, she has two golden
retrievers and three horses
(with one on the way). Lindsey
continues to train horses in her
spare time.

Christina grew up in Belmond, Iowa
and attended South Dakota State
University for her undergraduate
degree. She attended Iowa State
University for Veterinary School and
graduated in 2010. Following
graduation she completed an
internship at Oakridge Equine
Hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Before joining the practice, she
was working as a racetrack
veterinarian for Equine Sports
Medicine & Surgery. In her spare
time, she enjoys playing softball,
golfing and spending time with her
dog, Blue.
